that's how jessica fletcher do, yo.

i've been zooming through seasons of "Murder, She Wrote" on Netflix lately while i work, and i've strangely found Angela Lansbury's style to be quite inspiring. before i even know it, i've stopped my drafting, cutting, and sewing to apple+shift+3 screen shots of her clothes.

but after putting together a collection of all my faves so far and going through my own pictures, i realized why. that haircut may be my last step in completing my own transformation to cabot cove's famous detective. whaddya say doug, hot or not?

edit: newest episode screen shot - hey jessica, lookin' fine!

  2. she always reminded me of my grammy, who also has always had a fabulous wardrobe. plus when i was a kid we used to go over to grammy's and watch msw every sunday night while eating popcorn.

  3. i LOVE murder she wrote. they play it every day here in the UK, and when i'm not working, i watch the clock until it's time. it only solidifies my romance for maine.

  4. this is hilarious! Even more so because I can see myself in her wardrobe as well...even though I wish I could say I saw myself in your wardrobe more.Hmmm, maybe that could be a 2010 goal of mine. Look less like a 60-something sleuth... we'll have to see.

    thanks for sharing

  6. ahahah jenny, i TOTALLY had jessica fletcher hair! i was trying to find proof online, but i have way better pictures somewhere in the house. i'll have to dig them out.

elena, the whale/fish sweater was a big hit in our house, especially with the whale obsessed child of mine! i've got to find a pattern similar to it for a fall sweater/coat for her. she'd seriously die.

i almost didn't post this because i was embarrassed there for a second about how dorky i am. now i'm glad i did! all the comments are making my otherwise kind of boring monday awesome!

  7. Love it! I totally watch Murder She Wrote on Netflix all the time too! Especially when I'm sewing. My husband thinks it's just the strangest thing ever and, really, it's hard to argue with him:)

  9. Ahaha. I used t watch that show so much when I was taught at home...while working, of course. I LOVE the opening sequence when she waves and grins on her bike. I hope I'm like that at her age. A woman with fashion ahead of her time!

  11. saw jenny's post and then linked to yours and a little freaked out because i just finished watching MSW reruns last month. Thought I was the only one, relieved I guess to find out I'm not as nerdy as I thought for this one.

  13. Hahah, awesome! For some reason, whenever I see that show now, I can't help but think of that R. Kelly song: "It's like Murder She Wrote, once I get you out 'dem clothes..." Maybe I'm just slow, but I have NO IDEA WHAT THAT'S SUPPOSED TO MEAN! Haha.

    But love Angela Lansbury :)

  14. Elly,

Hilarious post! Especially the title of it... At least you aren't turning into one of the Golden Girls, where you paper bag and cinch sweaters, over your stirrup pants.
