a round kaari

kaari in the round
kaari in the round

i promised i had been working on another sweater, i just didn't get the chance to photograph it before we left for our trip. i had been wanting to make another kaari, but this time in the round. i had a bunch of lion brand fishermen's wool on hand, so i worked with the gauge until i could get it to be similar to what's called for in the pattern. even though it took some time to figure out how to do the decreases, sleeves and collar in the round, this sweater knit up very quickly. i love not having to seam sweaters.

i'm so pleased with the finished product! if you couldn't guess, i'm a big fan of fishermen's wool and i think it worked beautifully for this project. winter is SO no over yet here, so i think it will be my best friend over the next couple of days.

  1. I love your style. The sweater is lovely, and makes me want to knit right now, but my 3 month old baby won't let me! Oh well. One day I'll be able to get back to my hobbies. And the Kaari sweater will be my first project.

  3. elly this is great! you are so good at matching yarn + pattern. nice to know converting kaari in the round is doable- i have the pattern but would much rather knit it in the round. we have been hiking in the gorge the last few weekends, and its made me dream of designing the perfect hiking sweater- what i imagined is so similar to this! :) ps love those glasses on you. i found out i need glasses and have been so frustrated finding a nice but affordable pair.
