friends far away

nothing pulls you out of a funk like a good talk with a friend, and a package being delivered to your door from that same person just minutes after hanging up. and it's not even my birthday!

package from jenny
this beautiful shirt jenny sent me was something she scratched from her s/s collection! isn't it amazing?! she wasn't happy with it. how lucky am i to be her friend? also worn, a felt wiksten holiday necklace.

i have adored these socks since jenny knit and shared them on her blog. she actually made them especially for me, which i think is amazing since nothing beats hand knit socks. they are gorgeous and so, so soft. i haven't taken them off since i got them!

  3. All looks so pretty. What is best about woolen socks is the softness for sure, wearing them here winters and summers if possible.

    The next best thing is bare feet, like today on this hot day when the birch trees are emerald green and the branches dance in the gentle wind.

    Happy weekend from Finland!

  5. aww. so nice! and knitted socks are pretty cool. but i would ratehr have someone make them FOR me than make them myself. I did one pair last year (which were adorable, and i made them maching but not by inversing the colors on them), but doing the whole heel thing was just too detailed for me.

  12. sk, i thought that was so sweet that you said it makes you want to BE a better friend! jenny makes me want to too - knowing people who are good friends sure is inspiring!

    i'm so lucky to have people who knit socks for me, and now i want THEM to teach me how to knit my first official pair!

    thanks taylor, and i just wanted to clarify that the shirt is jenny's design and handiwork, not mine. although that's a huge compliment to me!

    hi karra, it's actually a cheaper match of benjamin moore's "stonington gray." my husband grew up in a town of the same name which is what sealed the deal in my usual battle to choose just the right color. i really love it, too.

  14. We are fortunate to have at least one good friend in life, even if long distance. The most treasured gifts I receive are the hand made, as ones heart, energy and love are woven into each section of the gift.

    The designs pictured are creative and I adore each and every one you shared in this post.
