i got hit hard with a nasty flu that has kept me sick in bed since this last weekend.  here i had been so excited to get moving on those goals, so it's been hard for me not to get discouraged about the roller coaster of health i seem to be on.  i swear, had i been born in a different era and was a pioneer, they would have pushed me off the wagon weeks ago and left me for the wolves!  it seems i'm not the strongest one of the bunch.

i keep trying to remember that this is why i've set my goals to be reasonable ones that can be worked on over the entire year.  it will happen.  and i can't forget the clause i included that the goals can always change.

  1. i recently saw an article (i think it was on zen habits) about having no goals. wondering if that might work better for me, i tend to lose focus on my goals rather easily and then am disappointed in myself. ha!

hope you feel better soon, elly!

  4. I cannot believe this! I feel bad for you. I will pray Elly. I am so glad you have D&T to help. Only you could still be so hilarious in the face of adversity-pushed off the wagon for the wolves!!!! You crack me up.
Please take it easy-please! Your body has been thru a lot.
You do have quite a few "hats" and they cannot all be worn at once-well..that would just be silly.
    love, mommy

  5. Don't sell yourself so short! It might of been a nasty dose that would of floored some of the toughest pioneers. Sometimes, you just have to go with it. Feel better. You have a lovely blog. I like reading it and you take beautiful pictures.

  6. Your knitting... so lovely. I have to say, feeling unwell is a fantastic excuse for knitting and knitting is great therapy on the way to recovery. I hope you feel better soon.

  7. Don't worry, January is always a month for illness to creep up on you. I lost my voice last week during a cold, and still haven't written up knitting patterns which I decided I'd have done by February..which I can already sense isn't going to happen! Even the smallest of illnesses can completely knock your routines but you've had a lot more than that to deal with so don't be so hard on yourself lady. (I'm replying to your email this weekend!)xxxxx
