i just finished watching the american experience documentary on the dust bowl. for such a bleak period in america's history, the photographer dorothea lange managed to capture such beauty.

    Isn't the American Experience series the best?! I haven't seen that one yet but I'm quite familiar with the photography of the era...putting it on my must watch list.

    There's a fantastic book that gives some thorough background on the hows and whys of the dust bowl and creates amazing descriptive images: Timothy Egan's 'The Worst Hard Times'
